IPAM Breakfast Meeting Friday, April 17, 2015

This April 17, 2015 the IPAM Breakfast Meeting Program is offering a unique opportunity to OHS Professionals and their Companies to get the facts about mentorship opportunities with the Red River College Occupational Health & Safety Certificate Program.

Frank Richards, RRC OHS Workplace Experience Coordinator, will be our guest speaker in April.  He will be providing an overview of the Workplace Experience program and will be available to answer any questions.

This meeting is also an opportunity to meet and chat with individuals in the OHS class of 2015!  All the students from the day program will be attending this meeting.

If you have questions or have been thinking about getting involved in the RRC OHS Program as a mentor, this is your chance to talk with other mentors, get answers, & meet the students.  Don’t miss out!

Jason Henkel from GFL Environmental will provide an overview of hazardous waste management, disposal and recycling processes. He is interested to hear your questions and concerns, the challenges of Hazardous Goods waste management in your environment, and is ready to offer insight into the requirements and suggest options for solutions.

GFL (Green For Life) Environmental Inc., comprised of Liquid Waste Division (East & West), Solid Waste Haulage Division, Solid Waste Transfer Division, and GFL Excavating Corp is a fully integrated solid & liquid waste management company that has been involved in the collection and processing of waste from Ontario to British Columbia for over forty years.

GFL waste management programs include: industrial/ commercial/ institutional, municipal and residential solid and recycling wastes. The transport, treatment, recycling, and disposal of hazardous/non-hazardous liquids and solids are conducted at our state of the art facility. Some of the waste streams we deal with include: laundry, acid and alkaline wastes, used oil and spent fuels, interceptor wastes, use oil filters, parts washer and spray gun cleaners, used anti-freeze and paint sludge’s. Also, including emergency spill response and clean up.

Bob has over 15 years experience in the Risk Mitigation and security consulting industry.

 

Description

Illegal narcotics can lead to increased risk, injuries, fatalities and costs.

Using the Surface Detect analysis method, CKR Global HRservices provides workplace drug assessments that test for the presence of illegal drugs, at the nanogram level. It is NOT used to test human beings; but it is used to detect traces of illegal narcotics on surfaces such as desks or any physical surfaces commonly touched.

Ron Mark, the Executive Director of the Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade and President of Ready Event Management, will take you through the process of developing enhanced communications, safety and disaster management plans for the Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade.

2015 Safety Saves Conference; Call for Speakers

Opportunities for Synergy, Collaboration and Innovation

IPAM & CSSE MB are now accepting proposals to present a session at the 2015 Safety Saves Conference in
Winnipeg Manitoba which is held on October 27 & 28, 2015. We are looking for speakers willing to share their
occupational health, safety and environmental knowledge and experience with our safety managers and program
leaders. Proposals may range from 1 – 3 hour sessions, with the majority of session being one hour long.
The 2015 conference will be covering many aspects of safety in the work place. You can use the following topics
below as a guide for submitting your presentation, but we are of course open to additional topics.
