Jennifer Brydon is the Health and Safety Assistant at St. Boniface Hospital and Research Centre. Jennifer has worked in Occupational Health & Safety in the Healthcare and Research sectors for the past 11 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Manitoba, obtained her Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation in 2009 and has a Certificate in Health, Safety and Environmental Practices from the University of Fredericton.

Jennifer plays a lead role in managing the chemical safety program (including WHMIS), industrial hygiene program, respiratory fit-test program and personal protective equipment programs.

Jennifer has spent a significant amount of time over the last year developing and implementing WHMIS 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital.

Jennifer will discuss how St. Boniface Hospital has tackled the implementation of WHMIS 2015 into its WHMIS program. Discussion will occur on how a combined WHMIS 1988 & WHMIS 2015 is being trained, how WHMIS 2015 is being communicated to the organization, challenges with the transition, solutions, as well as what still needs done.
