Violence Prevention Strategies

ABOUT THE SESSION:

The Violence Prevention Strategies session will explore methods to address violence in the workplace. It defines workplace violence and other threatening behaviours, and emphasizes the importance of comprehensive policies on violence, harassment, and bullying to foster a culture of respect and safety.

Attendees will learn the importance of training and awareness programs on conflict resolution, recognizing warning signs, and promoting mental health. The session also covers implementing security measures, conducting regular risk assessments, response training programs, and the need for a collaborative approach with stakeholders to ensure a safe work environment.

Teaghan Sampson is a Safety Advisor at the Manitoba Association for Safety in Healthcare (MASH). With expertise in safety training, auditing, safety program development, and noise testing, she is dedicated to promoting a safe and healthy environment in the healthcare sector. After transitioning from a frontline worker to a safety professional, Teaghan found a deep passion for safety and injury prevention, which has fueled her successful second career.

FEES:

IPAM Members - No Charge
Non-Members - $45.00/person
Students - $25.00

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Non-Member Registrations – Cancellations received at least 72 hours (3 days) prior to the event date are accepted without charge. If cancellation is not received by the specified time frame the non-member fee of $45.00 is applicable. Substitutions are welcome.

If the non-member joins IPAM within a month of this meeting, the $45 fee will be applied to the cost of membership.
