Changing Safety Culture - One Nudge at a Time
ABOUT THE SESSION:
This session challenges leaders to rethink how leadership behaviors directly shape culture, engagement, and safety outcomes. Using a powerful personal story of resilience, the speaker connects human-centered leadership to real-world performance, emphasizing that world-class safety is not achieved through rules and programs alone, but through trust, connection, and how leaders show up for their people every day. Drawing on principles championed by leaders, the session highlights the responsibility leaders have to see employees as people first and to create environments where individuals feel valued, heard, and empowered to speak up.
Participants will explore the critical leadership shifts required to move from compliance to commitment, including the transition from control to connection, blame to capacity, and managing outputs to developing people. Through reflection and interactive engagement, leaders are encouraged to examine the experience of being led by them and to identify concrete actions they can take to strengthen psychological safety, resilience, and care within their organizations. The session leaves attendees with a clear call to action: lead in a way that unlocks human potential, builds trust, and delivers sustainable safety and operational excellence from the inside out.
