Alex Rowntree is Manager Environment, Safety & Health and Sustainability with Winpak Division of American Biaxis Inc. and has in safety since 2001. He started in the Pharmaceutical industry, moved to furniture manufacturing, Rockets & missiles, Academics, Aerospace, Foundry, Construction, Malting and currently plastic packaging industry. He is currently working towards his CRSP designation’

SESSION INFO

This presentation will cover the responsibilities of both the Employer and the Supervisor regarding a safety and health management system. What are your legal duties identified by the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and its Regulation?

PRESENTER

Daniel Olson is a Health and Safety Professional with experience working in the Agricultural and Construction Industries in Manitoba. Over the six years Daniel has worked for the Construction Safety Association of Manitoba facilitating courses in class, virtually online, and at conference. Daniel is also involved in course development and safety and health management system development for CSAM’s clients.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • What are your legal duties as an Employer and Supervisor as outlined in the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Act and Regulation?
  • Understand who is a supervisor
  • Identify opportunities for meeting legal duties.
