IPAM Meeting! Friday, April 11, 2014

Join your IPAM colleagues on Friday, April 11, 2014, for a presentation by Kristin Petaski, P.Eng & Mike Gordon, P.Eng, owners of Workplace Engineering Solutions. This breakfast meeting will cover Machine Safeguarding Considerations during the Procurement Process.

Machine Safeguarding Considerations during the Procurement Process

Frequently, machine users find that newly purchased equipment does not pass machine safeguarding requirements, resulting in delays and expensive upgrades to equipment to ensure compliance with local or federal standards and regulations.
These considerations are better handled during the initial specification and procurement of the equipment.
Learning Objective 1:
Understand the standards and regulations for machine safeguarding
Learning Objective 2:
Use a risk assessment to determine requirements for new equipment
Learning Objective 3:

Draft those requirements into the purchase agreement and runoff criteria
