Topic:  Overview of key changes to the CSA Z94.4  Standard entitled Selection, Use and Care of Respirators.

Key Changes include:

  • New control banding method for selection of respirators for bioaerosols without established occupational exposure limits that are capable of causing infection, adverse or allergic response
  • New APFs (Assigned Protection Factors)
  • Training has been expanded and includes a new component on fit tester competency
  • Change-out procedures no longer allow for the use of warning properties
  • Several new appendices to help with the new sections such as selection of respirators for bioaerosols, fit tester competency and illustrations of acceptable facial hair for tight fitting respirators.
